Unimpressed with swings...OK with slides

Got a video camera for Mother's Day! We went to the park the week after and tried out the swings and the slide....

He is pretty unimpressed with the swing. We got a video of it later and we got a little eyebrow raise but that was it!

Swim Lessons

On April 20th, Dylan started swim lessons. I am a little late on the post but better late than never, right?!

He didn't hate it, but he didn't love it. Dan has been swimming with him most of the time. I have done it twice. Last time I swam with him he laughed and laughed when I was blowing bubbles.

Mother's Day Part 2

For our second part of Mother's Day, it was all about me, of course :)

We got up and I got my present - a video camera! I am super excited about it especially because it is so small and light. Also with my horrible luck with electronics, Dan got us a case for it as well. We decided at 7am to go to breakfast and it was a great idea because no one else was there. After that we did a little shopping (mostly for Dylan) and came back home. We hung out at home for the rest of the day and I did a little bit of scrapbooking at night while Dan watched his shows

Improvised Meatloaf

So I bought meatloaf meat mix at the grocery store, assuming I had meatloaf spice mix at home. Well, I didn't. Oops. What I did have was a potato spice packet.


I mixed it together with the meatloaf mixture (beef and pork)....


And then consulted my muffin tin and baked them for about 25 minutes at 375. They were tasty! I am going to try with other seasoning packets, too

Mother's Day - Part 1

Davion decided he wanted to surprise Mom for Mother's Day with a surprise party. So Dan, Dylan, Kelly and I all met up at their house the day before Mother's Day around 3:00. We all went to Church together and then went to dinner at a buffet. Dylan tried lots of new food - kiwi, lemon, grapes, and jell-o. He always had his tried and true - French fries. Yummy, delicious, salty French fries.

8 months

First of all, I can't believe I didn't update for a whole month! Oops. That just tells you how busy we've been! I have been slacking on the picture taking as well. Time to get back to it. Here is what Dylan has been doing....

*His favorite foods are: Applesauce, carrots, sweet potatoes, strawberries, graham crackers, cheerios, puffs, mum mums, chili, red beans and rice, chicken, kix. He is not all that interested in purees anymore so once they are gone, I am done with them.

*He is pretty much feeding himself his food. His applesauce is spoon fed (and the strawberries) but everything else he gets in there pretty well. It sort of happened out of nowhere.

*His is sitting up on his own and hardly falls over anymore.

*He is scooting! It's not a full on crawl yet but he plants his hands and then scoots his belly across the room. I am trying to get a video of it but he stops every time I start recording, of course.

*He is starting to freak out when we leave the room. He gets so angry and just screams. It's kind of obnoxious but does wonderful things to my self esteem.

*We are working on the sign language for "more" and "all done." I am not sure if he gets it because he claps when I say more. But I think he is just clapping because he's getting some more of something that he likes. He laughs his butt off at me anytime I say "all done" or "more" and do the signs for it. I am not sure why it's so funny.









*He loves to clap. That's what you can find him doing most of the time. And yelling for no apparent reason.

*He is still in some 3-6 month clothes and a few 9 month clothes. I had bought a bunch of 9 month summer stuff and it got really nice out so I had to run and get some 6 month summer stuff because he doesn't fit in the 9 month things yet.

*We broke out the jogging stroller and he enjoys it. He just really likes being outside, actually.
